Dear Diary,
I never knew how helping others could make a person feel so much better about themselves.  After joining president Johnson's, Volunteers in Service to America, I feel like I have a higher purpose in life.  Prior to joining I began doing drugs and getting involved with the wrong people, but now that I have experienced this feeling there is no better high.  Having this impact and seeing your progress in your own community on a daily basis makes you truly appreciate what life has to offer.  President Johnson, thank you so much for enlightening me and illustrating that just because it's your life doesn't mean you are the most important thing in it.
